Jolly Talk is a voice and video calling app for adults. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how anyone can report a concern, and what we do when a report reaches us. It is published to meet the child safety requirements of the Google Play Developer Programme and applicable law.
1. Adults only
- Jolly Talk is for people aged 18 and over. Users confirm they are 18 or older when they sign up, and a date of birth under 18 is refused.
- Creators go through an application and review before they can take calls, and must verify their PAN and bank account before they can be paid.
- Accounts that we believe belong to a minor are suspended without notice, and any coins or earnings on them are frozen while we review.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
2. Prohibited content and behaviour
The following are banned on Jolly Talk and lead to immediate, permanent removal:
- Any sexual content involving a minor, including images, video, audio, text, or live camera footage, whether real, edited or generated.
- Grooming, solicitation or sexualised communication with anyone who is, or appears to be, under 18.
- Sextortion, threats, or attempts to obtain sexual content from a minor.
- Sharing links, contact details or instructions that lead to child sexual abuse material (CSAM) anywhere else.
- Attempting to bring a minor onto the platform, including creating an account on their behalf.
3. How we prevent and detect abuse
- In-app reporting. Every creator profile, call and chat has a report option that goes straight to our safety team. Reports involving a possible minor are handled first.
- Blocking. Anyone can block another person instantly; a blocked person can no longer call or message them.
- No contact sharing. Chat messages containing phone numbers are blocked automatically, which keeps conversations inside the app where they can be reported.
- Human review. Every report is reviewed by a person. We do not rely on automated decisions alone for CSAE cases.
- Reviewed creators. The people receiving paid calls have been reviewed by our team and are identifiable through their payout verification.
4. How to report a concern
If you see something on Jolly Talk that involves a child, report it right away using any of these routes:
- In the app: open the person’s profile or the call screen menu, tap Report, choose the reason that fits, and add details.
- By email: write to support@jollytalk.app with the subject line “Child safety”. Include the name or ID involved, when it happened, and anything you saw.
- In an emergency: if a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first. In India, call Childline on 1098 or the police on 112.
You do not need an account to report by email, and you can report anonymously.
5. What happens after a report
- CSAE reports are reviewed within 24 hours, ahead of every other report type.
- Where a report is credible, the account is suspended immediately while we investigate.
- Confirmed CSAM is removed, preserved as evidence in line with legal requirements, and reported to the relevant authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and India’s National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, as applicable.
- We cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement and keep the records needed for investigations.
- Where the law allows, we tell the reporter when the case is closed.
6. Compliance with law
Jolly Talk complies with applicable child protection laws, including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and the Information Technology Act in India, and with child safety reporting obligations in the regions where the app is available. We review these standards at least once a year and whenever the law or our product changes.
